Drama
Statement of philosophy
The essence of this area of the curriculum is to develop an awareness, appreciation and enjoyment of Drama. Through a variety of chosen themes, pupils will be exposed to a wide range of cultural experiences and encouraged to develop skills in Drama and Theatre.
Above all, the Drama experience will provide an opportunity for students to communicate positively and thus develop their self esteem, to enhance their ability to respond sympathetically to the needs of others and to express their feelings effectively on a range of current issues.
In addition, an exciting and varied cross curricular programme will serve to lift the profile of Drama whilst simultaneously providing an environment in which to forge links with the community and develop essential communication and life skills.
