House System and Class Size
House System
The House system is coordinated by Senior School students who hold the prestigious positions of Head of House, Heads of Creativity, Action and Service. In addition, each Tutor Group for Year 7 – 11 is allocated a Senior School Year Coordinator to assist in the implementation of the Inter-House events.
An organised programme of Inter-House events and activities in the three areas of Creativity, Action and Service helps to promote student mixing across all years and encourages a wider range of responsibilities to be undertaken. The programme includes both competitive and cooperative elements, eg. a wide variety of Inter-House Sports Competitions, Chinese New Year Door decorating, charity week events, quizzes, Inter-House Chess and Debating competitions. These annual competitions and events culminate in the presentation of the House Champions Cup at the end of the year.
Class Size
We aim to have maximum class sizes of 24 students in Years 7-11 and 16 in the Senior School. We believe that smaller classes enable our students to settle more quickly into the College and enhance opportunities for individual attention.
