Re: Classes to resume at Sha Tin College – Wednesday 16th September 2009

I am pleased to inform you that all classes will resume at Sha Tin College, tomorrow, Wednesday 16th September, and we look forward to receiving the students back on their normal timetable. I would like to thank you all for your understanding and support during the past period of class suspension due to the ‘flu outbreak which affected our school so significantly.

I would like to ask for your continued assistance by:

• Reinforcing personal hygiene with regard to regular hand-washing and containing coughs and sneezes with disposable tissues;
  
  
• Checking your children for ‘flu symptoms and high temperatures and not sending them to school if they are unwell – please seek medical advice;
  
  
• If your child is absent from school, please inform our staff of the reasons, particularly if they have ‘flu-like symptoms and / or a high temperature.

As classes resume, we will follow up with the students regarding the work set over the last week and we intend to conduct a simple survey with students, parents and staff to assess the effectiveness of our e-learning methods whilst the students were at home. For your information, there is an ESF-wide initiative to develop Moodle as an e-learning platform in the event of any future problems and to generally support students’ learning. This will begin to be used from early 2010.
